I called and asked if he had certain card boxes, he said he would look and call me back. He never called back, my friend called and asked if he has unopened boxes of cards to buy, he said that someone came in and bought a case but he still has some packs and boxes, we drive 45 minutes to see what he has, it is a house. We call again and he said he's all out of boxes and that he sold them all an hour before we came over.
This is a residential home and call for appointments only. Very knowledgeable guy.
Rick is extremely personable and very fair to work with. I had the fortunate experience of he getting in touch with me through a mutual contact. We had a great telephone conversation followed by Rick visiting me at my house the next afternoon. We had a delightful 3 hour visit, and we made a very fair deal on some of my baseball card sets that Rick was interested in. Very quickly it seemed like we had known each other for a long time, and he was a pleasure to visit with and to work with. Anyone in the Chicago area who is interested in buying or selling vintage cards should definitely go directly to Rick as their first and only choice.
